The New Yorker: NewYorker.com My first encounter with The New Yorker was in Hawaii in 1994, when I bought an issue that had a very, very long piece titled “The Massacre at El Mozote,” about a December 1981 tragedy in El Salvador. Ever since that issue, I’ve been an avid reader and subscriber—I even paid the premium price for an international subscription so I could swing in my hammock in Liro Village and read Talk of the Town. This week, finally, The New Yorker has a nice web site, and I’m celebrating!
