At the dinner table last night, Erin recounts her exchange at the Whole Foods checkout lane:

Cashier, to other cashier: Is there some special recipe for five kiwi? Because everyone’s been buying them today.

Erin, to cashier: Um, that’s because kiwi are on sale, five for a two dollars.
